We’re off and running! The joyous and hectic holidays are behind us and we are beginning the New Year. It is with great anticipation that we all look forward to what lies ahead. Our hope is that we will all enjoy a productive, safe and inspired new year.
At Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, we are busy planning many events and activities for the year ahead.
What’s on the calendar for NHLA this month?
We have several seminars, webinars and conferences either on the event calendar or in the planning stages. We also have our committee meetings for Q1 coming up. Our committees include:
- Safety and Security
- Education
- Government Affairs
- Housekeeping
- Sustainability
We encourage our members to participate on one of the committees as it gives participants the opportunity to meet new people, share the expertise and serve the industry.
Our Women in Lodging division will have social networking events, seminars, philanthropy and mentor programs. We are going to focus on professional development this year as this topic is our number one request.
Our 2018 winter mentor sessions for WIL will take place this month in SNV and NNV. Learn more and consider being a mentor or mentee. It is a fun and fulfilling opportunity.
The Next Reigning Generation young professionals group is actively planning relevant events and activities for our young leaders. We have openings on the Next Reigning Generation (NRG) council; if you are interested in playing an active role in guiding our young members and your colleagues and peers, contact us.
Our Northern Nevada members are gearing up for our first bowling tournament on January 25 at the King Pin VIP lanes at the Reno Bowling Stadium. Proceeds will benefit Dress for Success Northern Nevada.
