So you’ve joined the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association. Now what? How do you maximize NHLA membership? Here are some great ways to get started and become active and benefit from being a member.
First of all, ask yourself why you joined and what you hope to gain from the membership. If you are a hotel company, you are probably interested in educational resources for your employees. NHLA offers relevant seminars, webinars and conferences throughout the year. These seminars and webinars are free for members. Conferences have a nominal charge to cover food and beverage included at the events. NHLA conference pricing is well below the normal fees charged for similar industry events.

Did you know that by joining NHLA, all of your employees are now members and can participate in events and take advantage of membership resources? That’s right, everyone in the member company.
NHLA Women in Lodging

Do you have female leaders and up-and-coming leaders? Talk to them about joining NHLA Women in Lodging. This is a dynamic and productive division of NHLA. With nearly 200 members, NHLA WIL has activities frequently including career development, a mentor program, networking and philanthropic activities.
Next Reigning Generation-young professionals

How are your young workforce team members doing? Ask them if they are interested in joining the Next Reigning Generation (NRG), the young professionals division of NHLA. Up-and-coming leaders under the age of 36 take part in social networking, educational events, career development, and community support activities. These are our future leaders; help them develop and become the best the industry has to offer.
NHLA committees welcome new members

The NHLA government affairs committee meets quarterly and keeps members apprised of legislative matters that impact our industry as well as new laws. The committee assists the NHLA team in areas where communication with lawmakers may be needed to support the best interests of the hotel industry.
The NHLA sustainability committee is comprised of members leading the industry in sustainable business practices. An annual conference is hosted by NHLA with experts in the sustainability realm presenting best practices, resources and assistance.
The NHLA housekeeping committee provides myriad educational activities and resources for our members. The committee is led by executive housekeepers from resorts and hotels throughout the Las Vegas community. Esteemed business leaders supporting the industry also serve on the committee and guide it accordingly.

Northern Nevada council open to new members
Our Northern Nevada members have a member council in place comprised of leaders in the area. The council meets quarterly to discuss the specific needs of that division and the NHLA team works to ensure needs are met. There are openings on the NNV council; contact us if interested.
