September 12, NHLA will present an all-member luncheon at the Orleans featuring guest speaker Rushia Brown. Rushia is with the brand new WNBA Las Vegas team, The Aces and has an exciting history in the world of professional basketball. Don’t miss this inspiring event! Sign up.

On September 18, the summer session of the Women in Lodging mentor program will conclude. Participants will receive certificates of participation at a meeting that evening. The next mentor session will take place January 29, 2019.

In partnership with the Timothy SY Lam Foundation, NHLA will once again offer a Certified Guest Service Professional workshop and certification exam on September 20 at The International School of Hospitality. The AHLA CGSP designation is the highest of its type in the industry and recognizes exemplary skills in guest service. The event is offered at a 50% discount to NHLA members. On September 24, the Q3 Northern Nevada council will hold the quarterly meeting. The council helps to guide the activities and benefits of NHLA membership for our Northern Nevada members.
September brings first security conference
The first annual NHLA security conference will take place on September 27 at the Orleans. The morning sessions will feature guest speakers on relevant security topics. There will be a keynote guest speaker during the lunch and the afternoon session will focus on human trafficking awareness. More information to come.
More events to come
We have many events and activities taking place to finish out Q3 and move into Q4. Our biggest event is the Stars of the Industry Hospitality Awards Gala which will take place at Aria on October 18. Nominations are open…nominate the super stars in your company!
