Meet Andrew Sanchez, NRG Vice Chairperson

Andrew Sanchez has recently been appointed as our Vice Chairperson for the Next Reigning Generation Council (NRG). He has been instrumental in assisting in the organization and facilitation of all NRG events to include, but is not limited to, Socials, Boot Camps, and Philanthropy activities. Additionally, Andrew has been actively participating in our Social Media channels. He has been innovative, bringing forth ideas such as creating a quarterly NRG newsletter in an effort to maintain constant open communication with our members.

Andrew began his career as a part time Ticket Office Representative in 2011 and became Supervisor in December of 2014. Prior to working at the ARIA Resort & Casino, he worked at Bank of America for 4 years. At Bank of America, he started as a teller before quickly getting promoted to Teller Operations Specialist to oversee daily operations of the banking center, and finally a Consolidation Specialist to facilitate the closing of in store banking centers in the Las Vegas area.

Impressive career beginning

UNLV

After graduating with honors from High School in Baumholder, Germany, due to his family military service background, Andrew moved to Las Vegas upon getting accepted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration – Management in May of 2014. Andrew is continuing to strengthen his management and leadership style with MGM and build his career in the hotel industry since the completion of his degree.

Award winning status

As Supervisor at the ARIA Ticket Office, he’s had the opportunity to guide his team to success by obtaining the Chairman’s Service Excellence Award for MGM Resorts International. This prestigious award recognizes one department in the company for their dedication to guest service, employee culture and engagement, innovative practices, and other factors. The ARIA Ticket Office being a recipient of this award marks a first for the company as Andrew’s Ticket Office was the first Ticket Office to receive this honor.

Andrew shares his leadership skills

NRG

Andrew joined NHLA’s Next Reigning Generation (NRG) division in early 2015. He took an interest to the group due to the efforts put forth by NHLA to help develop young professionals. Seeking opportunities to become more active within the group, Andrew became a committee member of NRG in the summer of 2015. After serving several months on the committee and facilitating social, networking, and bootcamp events, Andrew was asked to assume to role of Vice Chairperson and he readily accepted.

“We are so excited to have Andrew helping to lead our young industry professionals through NRG.  The group is comprised of up and coming leaders in the hospitality business and an integral part of Nevada’s tourism success,” states Diane Gandy, NHLA President.
