I am so excited about my position with the Board with NHLA and with the newly created and highly touted WIL! I took a seat at the board after a seminar I presented up in Reno on Revenue Management, we were sitting around talking about how my boss was so busy he never responded or attended meetings…so we kicked him off and put me on! It was to everyone’s benefits because I’m super enthusiastic and since I sit in front of my computer ALL DAY LONG I have time to shoot emails, solicit monies and pitch memberships. I am a Revenue Director; I am all about the money!

I’ve been in Las Vegas for over 25 years and absolutely love the hotel industry, I’m a UNLV Alum (go Rebels) and actually have a degree in what I do, that’s a rarity these days. I have worked for almost every major gaming company on the strip and some off and regionally as well and it is always so fast paced and I really have fun at my job. I am the proud parent of a 2 ½ year old, so you can imagine that I drink a lot of coffee every morning. My husband is a wonderful awesome man that stays home with Gunnar, and a funny fact, I listen to some really heavy metal, especially during my forecasting with my headsets of course (so I don’t offend anyone) and really rock out in my office.

I love challenging those around me with new goals as often as possible; we shouldn’t ever sit on our laurels and wait for our goals to come get us, we should go get them. My route to DORM or Director of Revenue Management came up through the Reservations side of the world. I have opened 3 different properties from scratch, installed 4 RM systems, managed upwards of 100 employees, and had at one time 12,000 rooms to fill per night!

So scaling down and coming to The New Tropicana Las Vegas was a treat, we advertise ourselves in the community as the “boutique” property because we’re the smallest on the strip with 1,469 rooms.
I love the people here, love the sense of family here and the care we each show each other and the guests. I love numbers, spreadsheets, and anything analytical. I have alarms to remind me to get up from my desk and the funny thing is most people don’t even know where my office is, but they know my name and know my email address by the amount of items I send out each day.
