2016 brought many exciting member events for the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association including over 75 events, activities and projects. Our NHLA Hospitality Golf and NHLA Bowling tournaments created donation checks for UNLV scholarships and The Shade Tree shelter. The hospitality industry is known for supporting our community and NHLA is thrilled to be a big part of it. We thank our fabulous members for their participation and support.
The annual NHLA Hospitality Golf Tournament was held in May with almost 100 golfers. We are so appreciative of the golfers for participating. We got rained on but everyone was exceptionally nice and had a good time anyway. The event supported raising funds for the Van Heffner Memorial Scholarship fund. This year the proceeds were presented to UNLV for their student scholarships.
Save the date for 2017 golf tournament
Next year’s NHLA Hospitality Golf Tournament will take place on June 3 (no rain, please!) for a morning tee off at the Revere Golf Club.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the scholarship fund for NHLA member The International School of Hospitality (TISOH). TISOH offers career focused practical programs for students interested in furthering their education based on their schedules.
So much fun at the bowling tournament
Our bowling tournament provided great fun for our 88 bowlers this summer. Proceeds from the event were donated to The Shade Tree Shelter for abused women, children and pets.
Get out your favorite 80s attire
The 2017 NHLA Hospitality Bowling Tournament will take place on July 27 at the Orleans bowling center. The format for our 4th annual bowling event is slightly different. It will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The extra fun part…it will be an 80s themed event including a grand prize for best costume. Big hair, rock ‘n roll, crazy clothes and bowling…can’t wait to see our industry colleagues in their best 80s attire as they bowl for bucks and prizes. Proceeds from this event will once again support The Shade Tree shelter.
