NHLA held the 5th Annual Bowling Tournament last week with over 135 participants. The event proceeds will benefit The Shade Tree, a local shelter for women, children and pets.
The bowling tourney was held at the Orleans and consisted of three fun games of bowling. First game, 9 no tap meaning for every first roll that hit 9 pins it counted as a strike. Second game, regular bowling. Third game, in line with the country western theme, Hee Haw bowling. Each frame had a special assignment for the participants to do such as “Act like Dolly Parton and roll a strike,” or “Using your opposite hand, line dance to the line and roll” along with many more fun challenges.
Congratulations to high score bowler Wood Chan!

Congratulations to Jennifer Hendowski, 2nd place winner for best costume in the NHLA country western themed bowling tourney!

Proceeds from the bowling tourney will go to The Shade Tree shelter. The Shade Tree assists women in crisis escaping from abusive situations. Oftentimes they bring their children and pets for shelter and safety. The monies donated help in so many ways and the team at The Shade Tree is very appreciative of NHLA member support again this year.

Back to the 80’s next year

The vote is in for the theme next year – Back to the 80’s! Seems to be the fave of everyone and costumes are so fun for this theme. The format will be different next year to keep it lively and fun for all. Mark your calendars for July 25, 2019 2:00-4:30 p.m. at the Orleans Bowling Center. We have blocked the entire bowling center so we have 52 lanes available-let’s sell out! Think back…what did they wear in the 80’s?
