The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association board of directors has appointed new officers for the 2019-2020 term. The officers serve two year terms with the option of serving a second term, if elected.

Mary Ann Burns, Vice President of Hotel Operations for Boyd Gaming will serve as Chairman of the Board. Mary Ann has been on the board of directors for 5 years previously serving two terms as Vice Chairperson. She is a founding member of Women in Lodging and also serves on the WIL mentor committee.

Alex Canales, Area Vice President – Resort Operations Hilton Grand Vacations Club, will serve as SNV Vice Chairperson. Alex was awarded Hotelier of the Year 2017 at the Stars of the Industry Hospitality Awards Gala. He also serves on the NHLA education committee. Alex has been involved with NHLA since the 1990’s most recently serving two terms as treasurer.

Serving as NNV Vice Chairperson, Cheraz Ecker, General Manager of the Atlantis Resort Casino Spa, will serve another term in the role. Cheraz participates in all NNV NHLA events providing support, facilities and engagement for the many activities taking place in Reno. She also is the co-chair of the NHLA government affairs committee.

Chris Breed, Vice President of Operations at Soleil Management, will step into the role of treasurer. Chris serves on the Women in Lodging council and will be the vice chair of the council for 2019. Chris serves on the Board of Trustees for the newly formed Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation. She actively participates in the mentor program and other events, as well.
New officers bring a wealth of knowledge to NHLA
Each of these executives has extensive experience in the hospitality industry as well as with the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association. They bring a wealth of guidance, expertise and insight to the board and the members.

Leading the association is Diane Gandy, President of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association. She has been employed with NHLA for over 5 years after an extensive career in the hospitality industry.
“We are so fortunate to have such a dynamic and engaged board of directors. Every board member brings unique experience to the industry,” states Diane. “The board is a joy and honor to work with; I am looking forward to a very productive new year.”

Vice President of Finance and Operations, Irving Pamblanco, just celebrated his 30th anniversary with NHLA. His dedication and commitment is instrumental in the growth and success the association now experiences.
