NHLA Board of Directors Provide Top Leadership

2015 is coming to a close. So many accomplishments and progress this year. Where do we begin? Let’s begin with the amazing NHLA Board of Directors.

Several new industry executives were appointed to the NHLA Board of Directors this year from throughout the state.

We currently have our four NHLA officers: Chairman of the Board Lynn Mitchell, Soleil Management; Vice Chairman Jonathan Boulware, Gold Dust West; Secretary/Treasurer Cliff Atkinson, Mandarin Oriental; and Vice Chair Mary Ann Burns, Boyd Group. These officers provide direction for the association and have the authority to make financial and leadership decisions.

NHLA implemented a new level within the board of directors this year – the executive board. The executive board assists the officers with high level decisions and opportunities while providing guidance for NHLA. Executive board members include Alex Canales, Hilton Grand Vacations; Mary Giuliano, Vdara Hotel and Spa; Greg Gooding, Westin Lake Las Vegas; Lyra Hynie, Tropicana Las Vegas; and Shannon McCallum, Aria Resort and Casino.

The remaining board members have voting authority and also directional responsibility for the association, industry and the staff. We have 9 board members representing Northern Nevada to ensure NHLA provides advocacy, resources, benefits and value to all of our members throughout the state.

“I have been involved with NHLA for over 25 years. While managing hotels throughout the years, I served on the board with some extraordinary leaders. However, I can honestly say our NHLA board of directors now is the most progressive, dynamic, productive and involved group of top industry leaders NHLA has ever seen,” states Diane Gandy, President. “We are so fortunate to be led by a team like our board of directors. Through their guidance and input, NHLA is one of the strongest industry associations in the country.”
