The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association is pleased to announce a new mentor program for our young professional members in the Next Reigning Generation division – Horizons, Exploring Together.
The Horizons mentor program is designed to give young professionals an opportunity to spend time with an experienced senior leader in our industry in an area of interest to the participant. We have over 30 participants in this first session exploring many areas such as hotel operations, training and development, human resources, food and beverage, finance and online marketing.
Horizons mentor program is fast-paced and fun

The Horizons mentor program is a six week, fast-paced session. The mentees and mentors design their own timeline that fits both schedules. Mentees will explore various related areas with their mentors and designates. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn from experience and advance your career plan.
All participants will meet on January 30 at Panevino’s lounge for Happy Hour and a review of the program. Time will be scheduled for each pairing of mentors and mentees to get acquainted and take the first steps in planning the program.
The program will conclude on March 13 with a final meeting to discuss the experience and receive certificates of completion. Each member receives a booklet at the beginning of the program outline as well as a questionnaire at the end to bring to the final session.
There will be two Horizons sessions per year with the next one taking place mid-summer. Watch for more information.
Special appreciation is extended to our mentors as we know they are extremely busy and we thank them for supporting the NRG mentor program and participants. Their participation is extremely valuable and rewarding for our mentees.
Anyone interested in participating as a mentor or mentee should sign up via the www.nvhotels.com website.
