We are often asked what is planned for the next few weeks. All of the confirmed events are always posted on our event calendar. We add new activities every week. Here are some dates at-a-glance as of now to save for this quarter.
January 18: Our Emerging Leaders council will hold their Q1 meeting. The council is comprised of professionals with significant and impressive accomplishments early in their careers. This leadership group helps to direct the activities of Emerging Leaders to ensure they are relevant and beneficial for our members. Our co-chairs for this group for 2023 are Diego Lopez, Luxor and Mary Vega, Soleil Management.
January 19: The Clean and Green committee will be led by Andy Ginsburg, Resorts World and Sandra Wild, Venetian Resort for this year. The committee will meet on January 19 and begin planning a Q1 event as well as exploring activities for the rest of the year.
January 25: Our first Behind the Scenes tour will take place at the Bellagio Fountains. The popularity of this event filled our block of 30 attendees early on.
January 26: The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation board will meet for the Q1 meeting. The signature event, The Great Chef Run, will take place April 15 at Kellogg Zaher Park.
January 31: Our Women in Lodging group led by committee chair Mary Ann Burns will host a “Meet the Leaders” style event at the Orleans. The topic is “The Sky is the Limit” and the six panelists are highly accomplished leaders in various areas of the industry. Do not miss this important and inspiring event. Register now.
February 22: Our next Behind the Scenes will tour the Equestrian Center at South Point. The center is a renowned facility that houses horses for events. It is one of the most state-of-the-art centers of its type in the country. Don’t miss it!
February 23: It is a new year…how about a new certification for your career enhancement? NHLA will host the Certified Guest Service Professional workshop and exam. It will take place at The International School of Hospitality (TISOH). You can do it, take the exam.
March 7 and March 14: NHLA board member Nicole Marshall will present a virtual session of Excel Refresher tips and tricks. This was presented in 2022 and by popular request, Nicole will present these two again and she is adding in two new sessions in July.
March 21: We will have a Behind the Scenes tour of the Las Vegas Aviators and the Las Vegas Ball Park. This will be fun! Join us.
March 30: The Annual NHLA Vendor Showcase will take place at the Orleans. This event brings vendors and hoteliers together for the opportunity to take a look at products, learn about services and enjoy some of the activities included. This year we are including a breakfast with a special guest presenter.
All of our committees are always open for any NHLA member volunteers to join. Each committee or council meets quarterly for one hour either virtually or in person. Let us know if you would like to participate in one of interest.
