It was a busy summer with mentor programs, Women in Lodging events, Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation activities, seminars and the annual bowling tournament. Looking ahead, NHLA September events will fill up your calendar!
Kicking off September, we are hosting a Women in Lodging conference on the 12th at the Orleans. Popular leaders presenting on relevant topics include Shannon McCallum, Dr. Finley Cotrone, Leslie Klinger, Dr. Toni Repetti, Monique Makhlouf, and Janice Tanaka. Special luncheon keynote is Paula Lawrence, Executive Director of Dress for Success. A workshop will take place led by Janice after lunch featuring guidance for professional branding. A photographer will be available to do professional head shots at no charge, as well, sponsored by Marcus Lam. A donation drive is part of the event in support of Dress for Success. In partnership with the Timothy S Y Lam Foundation, we are hosting a Certified Guest Service Professional certification workshop and exam on September 19 at The International School of Hospitality. The CGSP designation reflects exemplary guest service skills and a commitment to the industry. Join us.
On September 24, the Women in Lodging mentor program will conclude. Participants will meet at the Orleans to review the experience and receive certificates of completion.
