The NHLA Women in Lodging division is an active group within the association. WIL members enjoy the benefit of networking, professional development, mentoring, and supporting The Shade Tree shelter through philanthropic activities.

The Shade Tree is a Las Vegas shelter for abused women, children and pets. The entity provides safety, food, shelter, clothing and medical resources. The shelter is supported from charitable contributions and community involvement. NHLA Women in Lodging is pleased to be able to assist in providing resources and assistance.
Be a Hero for our women in need

The first 2017 event NHLA Women in Lodging is taking part in is the Hero Walk for The Shade Tree. The 5K takes place on March 11. The event allows for participants to dress in their favorite Hero costumes and join the fun although costumes are not mandatory. All proceeds benefit The Shade Tree. WIL, NHLA and NRG members are encouraged to participate. Friends, colleagues, families and associates are welcome to come out, enjoy the day and help abused women, children and pets in the Las Vegas valley. Read more.

The next event supporting The Shade Tree is one of the most fun NHLA events of the year. The 4th NHLA Annual Bowling Tournament will take place on July 27 at the Orleans. The Nevada Restaurant Association will once again co-host the event with NHLA. This year it is even more fun…it is an 80s themed bowling tournament. Dress like your favorite rock star or person from the era. Participate in the costume contest, buy raffle tickets for amazing prizes, rock out to the music and Rock ‘n Roll Bowl! Proceeds benefit The Shade Tree. Don’t miss it.
WIL also provides training classes for the women at The Shade Tree on an ongoing basis. One hour classes teaching life skills are valuable for the residents at the shelter as they struggle to become independent and lead a safe life. Anyone wishing to present a class or two can contact Robert White, [email protected] to discuss.
Professional Women Inspiring all Women
Our Women in Lodging members are phenomenal. They share their time, expertise, resources and compassion regularly. NHLA, the community and The Shade Tree truly appreciate NHLA WIL. Thank you for serving.
