On September 23, the amazing members of NHLA Women in Lodging will join together for networking and a fun lunch at Ricardo’s. Most importantly, WIL is hosting a campaign for pet supply donations at the luncheon for Noah’s Animal House.
Noah’s Animal House is part of The Shade Tree, a local shelter for abused women, children and pets. NHLA Women in Lodging provides various methods of resources and support for The Shade Tree. Members are looking forward to helping the pets, as well.

Women in abusive situations often do not leave for fear of having to leave their pets behind in a dangerous environment. Noah’s opened in 2007 as the first of its type in Nevada. Since then over a thousand pets have stayed at Noah’s totaling over 80,000 boarding nights with the women and kids at The Shade Tree.
With the pets safely housed at Noah’s on the same site as The Shade Tree, the women and children can visit and care for their pets whenever they please. Everyone is safe at the facility.
As Noah’s is part of the charity, it depends on donations and contributions from the community. Enter NHLA Women in Lodging…we are here to help!
Gather the pet supplies for the NHLA Women in Lodging luncheon

On September 23 we will be bringing doggy beds, toys, leashes, and harnesses. Also needed is kitty litter…lots of kitty litter! Cat toys and beds are also in demand. Let’s give these furry babies the comforts of a good environment. Who knows what they have endured in their previous abusive situations? They should be comfy, safe, and happy. It is so easy to help in this situation and so rewarding. Happy pets make happy women and kids and that makes all of us happy.
Noah’s to open in Northern Nevada
A new Noah’s Animal House will open in Northern Nevada in the near future. Another great shelter for pets! Once they are ready, our fantastic Northern Nevada WIL members will be there to assist, as well.
