November typically starts to wind down the year of activities for most businesses. NHLA still has some fun events planned. Be sure to register for any of interest.

On November 6 Chris Breed, VP of Hotel Operations with Soleil Management, will host the Q4 Women in Lodging Leadership Chat. Each quarter we have an industry leader talk about her experiences in career growth including opportunities, choices, challenges, and advice. This event is sold out.

We will be in Reno on November 7 hosting our second annual Bocce Ball Tournament at the Renaissance. The event brings about 30 NNV members of NHLA together for a fun afternoon. Proceeds benefit Dress for Success Northern Nevada.

We will also have a NNV council meeting on November 7 to review the activities of the year and focus on the event calendar for NNV for next year.

The mid-session of the Women in Lodging leadership book club will meet on November 18 at Tahiti Resort at 6:00 p.m. It will conclude on December 9.

The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation, our new scholarship entity, has committee openings and we are excited to find new participants. We have a choice of committees including fundraising, education, communications, events and food and beverage. Reach out if interested in joining our dynamic team of leaders as we grow the foundation for the purpose of granting scholarships.

2020 promises to be a very busy year for NHLA members. Be sure to check the event calendar often and remember, when a company (hotel or vendor) joins NHLA, all team members may participate in any of our programs, events, benefits and activities.
