Have you ever wondered how the professionals create such amazing desserts? Not only are they a work of art, they are delicious! NHLA is pleased to host an event at Aria on Feb. 7 which includes a back-of-the-house tour of the famous patisserie as well as lessons in creating treats. Each participant will have the opportunity to make their own Valentine Hearts.

The event is a fundraiser for the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation scholarship program. The program supports scholarships for UNLV, UNR, CSN, TMCC.

The foundation began last year and is chaired by Simon Pettigrew, Sr. VP of Resort Operations at The Cosmopolitan. Other board members include Diane Gandy, NHLA President, Donald Bowman, Greg Chase, Jaime Miranda, Chris Breed, Josef Wagner, Toni Repetti, John Carpenter and Debbie Ngai.

Under the board’s leadership, we have committee members for fundraising, events, communication and education. We have openings on any of these committees, contact us for more information. The committees meet quarterly.

Events to support fundraising for the foundation will take place throughout the year. Volunteers, venues and ideas are always appreciated. Send us your thoughts in this area. Let’s all work towards ensuring NHLA members and families have an opportunity to apply for scholarships through the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation.
