As always, NHLA is busy providing industry resources, education and opportunities for our members. Something for everyone!
On May 8, the NRG council will hold the Q2 meeting to discuss upcoming NHLA young professional events and activities. Anyone wishing to join our under 36 NRG council is encouraged to do so. The more bright and energetic ideas, the better!

May 9, we will bring the Clean and Green conference to our members. The information packed conference will take place at the Gold Coast and will feature presenters talking about greener cleaning, textile reprocessing, leadership development opportunities, water resources and sustainability, public accommodations pest management and avoiding common sanitation violations. Luncheon keynote will be Yalmaz Siddiqui, VP of Corporate Sustainability, MGMRI. The afternoon session will be comprised of leaders in the sustainability field discussing implementation of sustainability programs at properties for little or no cost. Register.

On Saturday, May 11, we will hold our annual golf tourney this year at Desert Pines. Lexus of Las Vegas is sponsoring a beautiful vehicle for a hole-in-one. Golfers will enjoy a BBQ lunch after the tourney while awards and prizes are taking place. This is a great day with colleagues and friends on the beautiful course. Come on and play. Proceeds benefit scholarship programs.

We will be in Reno on May 17 for our annual Certified Guest Service Professional workshop and exam. The CGSP designation is the most prestigious guest service achievement recognition in the industry. Over 110 NHLA members have participated and passed, earning their place amongst the best. We appreciate the sponsorship of this program provided by the Timothy S Y Lam Foundation.

A NNV council meeting will follow the workshop as leaders meet with NHLA to discuss focus and upcoming events for our members in this region.

May 21 will bring the next WIL Read to Lead book club session. We are going to read Dare to Lead by Brene Brown. We will meet at Robert Irvine’s Public Lounge to get started. The club is fun, productive, develops rapport with other women in the industry and builds confidence in developing new leadership skills. Register.
