Summer is a busy time for everyone and NHLA is no exception. We are in the midst of mentor programs, tournaments, board meetings, committee sessions and book clubs. What will you be attending?
First, just a reminder, when a company joins the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association, all employees become members. So that means everyone at the company can take advantage of events, activities and resources. All events are posted on www.nvhotels.com and frequent flyer broadcasts are distributed.

On July 10, the Next Reigning Generation young professionals’ mentor program will conclude. With over 30 participants, there has been a lot of activity and positive energy as mentees and mentors work together in exploring growth and career opportunities. Participant’s completing the program will receive a certificate at the event taking place at the Orleans.
July 11 brings the Q3 Women in Lodging Philanthropy committee meeting. Nicole Marshall will assume the role of chairperson and the meeting will take place at The International School of Hospitality.

The Women in Lodging summer session of the mentor program will begin July 16. Mentors and mentees will meet at Ricardo’s on West Flamingo to learn about the program and map out individual plans. This program is highly successful with over 400 women completing it since launch in 2015.
The Northern Nevada council will meet on July 23 in Reno to review the first half of the year’s activities and plan events for the second half. The NHLA board of directors will also meet in Reno for the Q3 board meeting.
The much-anticipated annual NHLA bowling tournament, highlighted with an 80’s theme this year, will take place July 25 at the Orleans. Come in costume and participate in the costume contest (optional), bring a team, rock, roll and bowl and have a great time. Proceeds benefit the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation.

Watch for more activities, leadership development opportunities, and events throughout the summer including conferences, seminars, certifications and fun get-togethers.
