August 6, 2019 by Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association

Why NHLA Survey is Important

All NHLA members in our distribution database will soon be receiving an online NHLA survey. Why is it important to fill it out and return?

The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association provides many benefits and resources for members.  We host annual events such as The Stars of the Industry, The NNV Awards Luncheon, SNV and NNV bowling tournaments, the SNV golf tourney and the NNV bocce ball tournament.

TISOH

NHLA also provides conferences, seminars, workshops and certifications.  Many educational resources are made available at reduced or no cost to our members from accredited and highly respected entities such as The International School of Hospitality, Dale Carnegie, The Leadership Academy of Excellence presented by Dr. Jeff and Workplace ESL Solutions.

Networking and fundraising

Social networking activities and fundraisers are held throughout the year.  A member social was held in March at the Waldorf Astoria with a presentation by LVCVA.  A Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation wine tasting and dinner was held at CSN.  Upcoming socials include a tequila tasting at the Platinum Hotel, a beer tasting at Tahiti Village and a tour and tasting at Bently Heritage Distillery (NNV).

Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation

The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation was formed this past year to provide scholarship grants to UNLV, UNR, CSN and TMCC students.  Fundraisers and socials help to support this program.

NHLA Survey

Women in Lodging provides two mentor programs each year and recently added, a leadership book club.  Leadership chats are also hosted by leading female professionals each quarter.  Philanthropic efforts include supporting Dress for Success SNV and NNV.

NRG

Next Reigning Generation (NRG) is comprised of young professionals.  A mentor program was implemented this year and offered winter and summer.  Other activities include social networking, guest speaker presentations and educational opportunities.  NRG provides supportive activities for Project 150 helping homeless high school youth.

The Stars of the Industry hospitality awards gala recognizes and honors the super stars of the industry each year at a formal event attended by nominees, recipient, executives and celebrities.  Nominations are open – submit your exemplary team member now.

The NHLA Survey is important

By filling out the survey it gives the team at NHLA guidance as to what is relevant, needed, and important for our members.  It helps to set the program for the upcoming year.  The survey tells us what we are doing well along with how we can enhance membership. It only takes a few minutes, please tell us what you think.  Thank you for our support.
