NHLA members will be visiting the renowned Equestrian Center at South Point on Feb. 22 starting at 5:30 p.m. The center is the largest and notably nicest indoor facility in the country. The venue seats 4600 people and features the Cinch Saloon. Come along with us for a fun guided tour.

NHLA members to take the CGSP exam

The Certified Guest Service Professional designation is the highest honor in guest service in the hospitality industry. 40 of our members will be taking the workshop and exam at TISOH on Feb. 23. We have had nearly 300 people take the CGSP exam over the past few years with nearly everyone successfully achieving the certification. We wish all of the participants the best and congratulate them on taking this next step in professional development.

Vegas PBS introduces Jobtimize

Vegas PBS is more than a favorite TV channel...it offers one of the most robust workforce centers in the state. The online training division offers convenient learning opportunities in a vast range of subjects including professional development and certifications. Jobtimize, one of the newest programs for Vegas PBS, matches jobseekers with open positions throughout our communities and industries through behavioral science and human analytics. Two brief webinars will be offered to NHLA member employers/management to learn more about Jobtimize as it can be another arm for recruitment and retention. The first one is February 28 and the second one is March 8. Join us.

Time to refresh Excel skills

By popular request, NHLA is offering more Excel courses this year. If you missed the Excel refresher courses offered last year, here's your chance to join in. Nicole Marshall, NHLA Board Member and Regional Manager for The Siegel Group Nevada, will present a series of virtual sessions over the year to help those wishing to brush up on their Excel skills. The first one will take place March 7 at noon and is at capacity. The next one will take place March 14 at noon. These have both the same content and are designed for beginners or light users. More classes for intermediate and advanced are scheduled for later this year. Sign up.
