The NHLA board of directors and staff are pleased to welcome Rachel Rojas to the board. Rachel is Vice President of Enterprise Security, Boyd Gaming Corporation. She has an incredibly successful and interesting career background and brings a wealth of experience to NHLA in an extremely important area of the hospitality industry.

NHLA Women in Lodging welcomes new council chair

Nicole Marshall has been appointed as the new Women in Lodging Council Committee Chairperson. Nicole is a founding member of WIL, serves on the NHLA board of directors, leads the WIL philanthropic efforts, is our right arm for Stars of the Industry and is also fondly referred to as our "raffle queen"....raising thousands and thousands of dollars through raffle ticket sales for the past several years. Her creativity, enthusiasm and contributions are very much appreciated.

Emerging Leaders mentor program concludes

Congratulations to all of the mentees and mentors who completed the 2024 Emerging Leaders mentor program. Thank you to the mentors who took time out of their very busy schedules to engage with the mentees and make the experience productive and memorable. Thank you to our Emerging Leaders mentor ambassadors - Evan Meyer, Diego Lopez, Rick Walter, Christian Hernandez and Mary Vegas - for helping to manage the program and keep everyone on track. Special thanks to our leaders on the panel at the event on Monday for sharing their guidance and tips for success in the industry.

Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation awards scholarships

We were thrilled to award over $50,000 in scholarships to students in the hospitality industry. We had 14 recipients, a wonderful reception at the Platinum Hotel and great joy in helping these deserving individuals with their education career goals. Thank you to everyone who sponsored and participated in our 2024 Great Chef Run as the proceeds significantly help to fund the scholarship grants.
