Mark Fenton is a long-time active board member with the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association.  He brings years of leadership experience to the board and the industry.

Mark works for Marcus Hotels and Resorts and became part of the Platinum team in 2018 as the General Manager, where he oversees the 255-suite property just one block from the Strip.

Before moving to Las Vegas, he served as the General Manager of The Timber Ridge Lodge and Waterpark, as well as the Resident Manager at The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Wisconsin. Prior to his time at Marcus Hotels, Fenton spent nearly 25 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where he began his career as a corporate trainee. He later advanced to Director of Rooms at several prestigious locations, including the Hyatt Waikiki Resort and Spa and the Hyatt Regency San Francisco.

Mark holds a degree in hotel and restaurant management from Penn State University and also studied at Les Roches, a renowned Swiss hotel school.

Mark has participated in the NHLA Emerging Leaders program numerous times and supports mentorship and education for our members. Mark is also involved in the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation scholarship program as he hosted the annual scholarship recipient reception at the Platinum last year and is doing so again this year.  The reception brings the recipients of the scholarships together to be recognized and honored at the event where they receive their scholarship funding.  The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Foundation has granted nearly $100,000 in scholarships the past 3 years.  Mark is looking forward to hosting this important and meaningful event at his property in September.
