Q1 was a busy quarter for NHLA. Our members consistently tell us how we are one of the most robust associations in the industry and that we provide a variety of activities that are interesting and beneficial in so many ways. And we plan to continue to grow and always be relevant for our members.
We started with a wonderful Behind the Scenes tour of the Palms in January. The property is beautiful, filled with history along with new amenities and activities.
Pickleball is back! We had a full house of members learning to play pickleball and hone their skills. A fun morning for all.
Women in Lodging Sky is the Limit brought impressive female leaders together with our members to talk about their personal career journeys, challenges, accomplishments and words of wisdom.
February brought the opportunity for a Behind the Scenes tour of the gorgeous Resorts World. So many things to do and see at this resort and a plethora of restaurants and entertainment to enjoy. We truly enjoyed the tour which was about 90 minutes.
NHLA Emerging Leaders attended a networking session presented by Ruth Furman, Image Words owner and PR expert. Ruth openly shared her thoughts on successful networking, the vulnerabilities involved and how to shine in the industry.
Travel Nevada CEO, Rafael Villanueva, was our special guest presenter at our Q1 member mixer at the lovely NoMad at Park MGM. He shared what’s to come for Nevada tourism and the new campaign in effect…Get A little out there!
Rafael talked about statistics for SNV, NNV and rural Nevada and growth plans throughout. He also talked about the dark skies of Nevada and the beauty and adventure found in outlying areas throughout our beautiful state.
Our Clean and Green committee led by Andy Ginsburg and Sandra Wild hosted a recycling session featuring experts in that area from the resorts and Republic Recycling. We learned a lot about recycling guidelines.
In early March, NHLA hosted a luncheon in NNV at the Atlantis with Travel Nevada CEO Rafael Villanueva presenting information for our members in that region.
The 2025 Emerging Leaders Mentor Program began on March 10 for a 10 week session pairing mentors and mentees together for a range of interesting and fun activities. We have over 60 participants this year.
Our 2nd Annual Partner Connect took place at the Palms with 25 suppliers and a luncheon with a panel of professionals in the procurement and supplier areas sharing best practices for successful hotelier and supplier relationships.
Our Women in Lodging group met at the Awana Spa at Resorts World for a relaxing evening with guest speaker Lindsey Paoli. Learning to juggle so many responsibilities was the focus of this session set a beautiful venue.
Our PowerPoint sessions kicked off with Dr. Sherrie Tennessee teaching the virtual classes. This is a two part session. Our Canva two part session will be led by Jennifer Hurtado, UNLV.
Our Behind the Scenes tour of Club Wyndham Grand Desert was fun and we learned about timeshare operations.
LG hosted a really fun event at Atomic Golf at month end which included games, a Behind the Scenes tour and a wonderful tasting of food selections.
