The Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association provides a robust and productive award-winning mentor program each year. We are pleased to expand upon the program for 2026.
In the past, we offered two separate mentor programs: One for our Emerging Leaders and one for our Women in Lodging. We had over 150 people participating in the mentor programs this year. In 2026, we will be providing one mentor program open to any NHLA hotel team member.
Mission
The mission of the annual NHLA mentor program is to provide hotel team members with the opportunity to meet industry professionals who want to share their experience, knowledge and advice. Through the mentoring program mentees receive guidance and support as they explore career enhancement and advancement. The program is open to all members working within an NHLA member hotel.
Program Overview
The mentor program provides professional development opportunities and experiences for our hotel member mentees. Mentees are selected through an application process and paired with mentors based on the mentees’ areas of interest and availability of the mentors.
The mentor program session takes place annually and runs for 10 weeks.
Facts About the Program

The NHLA mentor program is designed to fulfill various purposes. For mentees, it provides resources for a robust learning experience. It also gives them a chance to broaden their career horizons by exploring other departments or industry fields and meeting industry professionals.
If participating as a mentor, the program allows experienced professionals to share their expertise, knowledge and guidance with mentees looking for career advancement and exploration and personal growth.
The program is a 10-week commitment for both parties – mentors and mentees.
Two-way communication is essential for the success of the program. Both the mentor and the mentee should be active participants in the program.
Process
The mentee application process will open on January 5, 2026. The application will be available here. Interested individuals should complete the application and submit it before the submission deadline which is February 6. The program will begin on February 23 and conclude on May 4. We will notify the mentees of their acceptance and introduce them to their assigned mentors prior to the start date.
We will launch this upcoming session on February 23 at the Orleans starting at 6:00 p.m. where our mentees and mentors will have the opportunity to meet and begin the individualized plan.
We know this will be a valuable and fun experience for everyone. Join in!
