Marvelless Mark wasn’t always so marvelous! The rockstar motivational speaker of today grew up Mark Kamp, a poor Missouri (he called it “Misery”) farm boy. While he dreamed of becoming a Famous Hit Radio DJ, a Las Vegas headliner, and a rock star in his own right, he was just a shy, tractor-driving teenager destined to be a farmer.
Thankfully, his BUD (Big Unreasonable Dreams, which he now teaches) motivated him to leave his hometown and the cows who served as his primary audience behind. After his early days as an on-air personality and a top sales executive, he cut his retail sales teeth as the General Manager of a major auto parts store. Next, he teamed up with Norwegian Cruise Lines to help revolutionize the cruising experience, assisting in the launch of what is now known as Freestyle Cruising.
From there, he set his sights on Vegas! Not only did he bring his sales and promotional talents to the Venetian, he brought his entertainment skills too. Being part of the of Rock of Ages vision, Mark was officially a Las Vegas headliner for 4 and a half years.
Since 1998, Mark has logged over 4 million miles worldwide and visited 24 countries as a full-time speaker, presenter, emcee, and entertainer. He authored the best-selling book Opportunity Rocks – Be a Rock Star in Business and Beyond, and is best known for his bedazzling outfits and his branded drumsticks (which “drum” up business, excitement, and education for attendees during his keynotes and training presentations).
